I love my cats and can't imagine anything changing if kids came into the picture. However, a friend who works in animal science begged me to do my research ontoxoplasmosis,and I can see why -- this is nasty, scary stuff for babies-to-be. Fortunately, prevention is typically just a matter of avoiding the litter box while expecting and frequently washing hands.
Actually, this could be an upside for me, since my husband would take on full-time litter box duty. :)

In my opinion, when a pet is brought into a household it is a household it is a forever committment.
