I always prefer anything that can be done from a smartphone - or online in general - because then you do not have make the appointment during regular business hours. It's a nice option for those of us who don't get much free time until the evenings.
Theoretically, it would be great to make doctor's appointments online -- however, I think it would take some real results to convince me that the online system works. Kind of like ordering take-out online -- I'm never sure if they are actually getting my order unless I call.
