The Well Community staff recently got word of some great news from Lincolnwood, so we thought we would pass it on. Third, fourth and fifth graders at Rutledge Hall in Lincolnwood are not just studying environmental conservation, they are sharing their knowledge with people across the country through the National Geographic “Find your Footprint” video contest.
With help from their teacher Leanne Ellis, the students created a video “Plastic Waste Reduction to Save Our Oceans” which focuses on what they have learned about how plastics in the oceans impact the environment, and the efforts the class is making to reduce plastic use in Lincolnwood schools and on a national scale.
Their video is one of six finalists in the nation-wide contest, which is judged by the number of “votes” the videos get on the National Geographic website. If their video wins, the Lincolnwood School district will win $36,000 worth of technology.

Voting ends March 15, so don’t delay and pass it on.
Good luck Rutledge Hall!
