So I’m driving down California Ave. when I see St. Hilary’s marquee:

Do you know Pat? I do! Pat Britt is a wonderful, sweet woman who worked in Community Relations at Swedish Covenant Hospital for 20+ years before retiring a few years back. In fact, she was one of the talented people who trained me when I started here nearly four years ago. It’s nice to see good people continuing to make an impact in their local community. Kudos! By the way, St. Hilary’s annual Family Fest is coming up on Saturday, June 4. Stop by for some fun if you're in the area.

A few weeks ago, we hosted another coffee tasting event at The Coffee Studio in Andersonville. I must confess, I love love love The Coffee Studio. Not just because I lived down the block from them for a few years...honestly, they truly have some of the most skilled baristas in the city. You'll be hard pressed to find a better latte, mocha or even hot chocolate in the city...give it a try!
As for the tasting event, Adam Reppert, a Swedish Covenant Hospital dietitian, spoke about the latest health research surrounding coffee. Adam deserves props too because he is really committed to his craft and is passionate about educating people on nutrition. If you have an interest in diet and nutrition, check out his Facebook page, filled with links to articles and health tips. You won't be disappointed.

Also at our tasting event was Anna Gaynor, a journalism student from Medill. Check out the news article she wrote on the event - and do yourself a favor by stopping by our next coffee tasting event at Julius Meinl on June 14 - definitely another superior coffee spot on the North side.
See you soon!
