Just spoke with Leasa Navarro, founder of KickSprout, a unique network of new and experienced parents that meets to support, educate and socialize with one another. We’re excited and honored to have Swedish Covenant Hospital's lactation consultant Kathleen Gale facilitating KickSprout's monthly breastfeeding support group at Family Grounds Cafe.

We’re also making plans to have one of our health psychologists, Dr. Katie Hanson, meet with KickSprout families to discuss mental wellness and the psychological impact of parenting and discipline strategies, so stay tuned.
What’s your best tip for new parents?
An update! WBEZ just ran a news story about the importance of breastfeeding, and the role that a hospital plays to establish successful breastfeeding routines before moms go home. Swedish Covenant Hospital led the pack by getting nearly 98% of newborns to breastfeed by the time they went home.
