A blizzard baby update on WGN Chicago

Check in on a Logan Square couple who reached Swedish Covenant Hospital just in time to deliver their 'blizzard baby' one year ago

Last February, following Chicago’s record-setting blizzard, many were touched by the story of Vada Frittzche Johnson’s birth. Her parents, Julia and Andy Johnson, of Logan Square, braved the height of the storm that night to get to Swedish Covenant Hospital. Just 20 minutes after they arrived, baby Vada was born.

Last night, WGN News aired a follow-up interview with the family as they approach Vada’s first birthday. Dr. Jeanine Maurice, the obstetrician and gynecologist at Swedish Covenant Hospital who delivered Vada, also reflected back on that memorable night.
