A little background
Well Community is published by Swedish Covenant Hospital and Galter LifeCenter, two of the largest providers of health care and wellness services in our coverage area, as an extension of their mission to improve the health and wellness of our community. Well Community works under the philosophy that being informed and connecting with the community are among the first steps toward healthy lifestyles and prevention.
Well Community is the evolution of a similar publication Swedish Covenant Hospital began producing in 2007: Well magazine. Well was a quarterly health and wellness magazine provided to 20,000 women in the community to replace the hospital-focused “newsletter” with a more relevant resource. The magazine received great feedback from readers, who said they appreciated the useful tips, insightful community member profiles, and especially the North side of Chicago focus.
It was the combination of the magazine’s success, new online interactive capabilities and feedback from more than three dozen women in the community via focus groups that brought forth the new and improved Well magazine: Well Community.
So click around, check us out, and join in. We hope you enjoy becoming part of the community!
